COVID-19 procedures

 

GENERAL PROVISIONS

  • Testing is not mandatory but is recommended for riders, national federation & UCI team staff, media, UCI staff including commissaires, anti-doping, timing, and implementation.
  • Face masks/face coverings shall be worn at all times, with the exception of riders on course (training and race). Any person at the event venue who is seen without a mask for an extended period of time will have their accreditation removed.
  • Regular hand washing/sanitizing is expected. Hand sanitizer will be provided at multiple locations on the event area.
  • Social distancing of minimum 1.5m is expected at all times.

 

BUBBLES

  • Bubbles are a group who can mix together but who cannot mix with another bubble. They are identified as follows:
    • Team – for the purpose of this document all athletes, National Federation and registered UCI-Team staff who are accredited to the event are referred to as “Team”
      • We recommend each team forms their own bubble.
    • Media
    • UCI
      • UCI will also separate into smaller functional bubbles.
    • TV
      • TV will also separate into smaller functional bubbles.

Bubbles must keep separated wherever possible and any interaction must respect distancing and use of masks.

The priority at all times is given to the team bubble.

 

RIDERS’ CONFIRMATION

  • Limited number of people in the room at the same time.
  • Only one person per nation/team is allowed.
  • XCC race 1
    • A provisional start list will be sent on 25.09.2020
    • Riders/teams need to confirm the participation by Tuesday at 10h00
    • XCC plate numbers are distributed together with the transponders
  • XCO race 1
    • Riders confirmation as normal
    • Plate numbers 1-24 for WE and ME distributed together with the transponders
  • XCC race 2
    • A provisional start list will be sent on 01.10.2020 (after the XCO races)
    • Riders/teams need to confirm the participation by Friday at 09h30
    • XCC plate numbers are distributed together with the transponders
  • XCO race 2
    • Riders confirmation as normal
    • Plate numbers 1-24 for WE and ME distributed together with the transponders

Please note that it is possible to confirm only race 1 or race 2 if a rider does not wish to compete in both.

 

TEAM MANAGERS MEETING

  • No team managers’ meeting will be held. All information will be distributed by communique.

 

CROSS-COUNTRY

  • Call up boxes
    • Media are not allowed in call up boxes.
    • Commissaires will remain at entrance of the boxes wherever possible.
    • Top 8 box – only rider & team staff allowed, no media or television will be present.

 

  • Start
    • A reduced number of media will be allowed.
    • Team staff should stay in the B-zone area set up before the start arch to collect clothing, bottles etc.

 

  • Feed and Technical Assistance Area
    • Only team staff with a feed zone pass can enter the area.
    • Masks/face covering must be worn at all times.
    • Commissaires shall keep their distance from the teams where possible.
    • Shimano shall keep their distance from the teams where possible.

 

  • Finish
    • A reduced number of media will be allowed.
    • Only 1 TV cameraman will be present.
    • A minimum number of key UCI/LOC staff will be present.

 

  • Podium
    • Distance between the podium steps should be respected.
    • Only 1 LOC official will be allowed on stage but without contact with riders.
    • Only key UCI/LOC staff, 1 cameraman, the UCI speaker will be allowed behind the podium
    • Flowers, trophies & champagne will be on the steps.

 

MEDIA

  • Team videographers/TVO) are considered part of the Team bubble, NOT the Media bubble.
    • No access for TVO to the media centre/media areas at the finish
    • TVO will be required to sign the usual waiver in order to receive a Team black bib
  • Under no circumstances are Media allowed to access the team area.

 

TEAM AREA

  • Only riders and team staff are allowed in the team area.
  • No media are allowed in the team area.

 

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR FEDERATIONS & TEAMS

  • Create and adhere to your own team bubble. Minimise contact with other bubbles wherever possible.
  • With the exception of your team videographers who are in your team bubble, other media are not allowed in the team area and all media requests you receive and any casual contact with media should be managed appropriately.
  • Consider any technical service-providers in Tech Alley as a separate bubble and manage any contact appropriately.
    • Expect to be asked for contact tracing information by service-providers and provide this accurately.

 

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR ATHLETES

  • Avoid signing autographs and taking selfies with fans.
  • Wear a mask unless on the course/track
  • XCO riders, continue to wear a mask until at least call-up starts.
  • Only agree to a media interview if the interviewer is distancing & taking appropriate hygiene measures.

  • XCC race 1 – published on Tuesday at 11h00
  • XCO race 1 – WU/MU published on Tuesday at 15h00, WE/WE published on Tuesday at 19h00 (after XCC)
  • XCC race 2 published on Friday at 10h00
  • XCO race 2 – WU/MU published on Friday at 10h00, WE/WE published on Friday at 19h00 (after XCC)

 

ENTRY FEE

  • The entry fee must be paid for each race (for race 1 and for race 2)

 

PRIZE MONEY

  • The prize money will be paid for each race

 

OVERALL WORLD CUP STANDING

  • There will be no Overall World Cup Standing (no leader jersey, no trophy, no overall prize money).

 

FLOWER CEREMONY

  • There will be no kids/hosts/hostesses giving flowers to the riders
  • Flash interview will be done with a microphone on a stand
